    Katie,
I am so glad that you are ready to begin. I work with a company called Leaving Prints. We try hard to make scrapbooking budget friendly and so easy that we all can succeed. From beginner to advanced it is all do-able without all the tools and training. First you need to decide if you want the album to be small or large. I recommend you go ahead and do 12"x12" format. I have a website http://scrapzoo.leavingprints.us We have lots of kits, though I noticed that since our big weekend sale several are out of stock. One is under Complete Kits, it comes with everything except glue and scissors basically to do a full 20 page album. I am also willing to have you contact me and I will assist you through it if you get overwhelmed. I do recommend that you go with a company who is willing to help you wether by distance or not who can talk you through it. Also, I recommend that you not go with a company who has exclusive strap hinge albums which are difficult to work with. Check out our kits that give you step by step instructions and I am here to back you up.

Congrats on your growing family! I started scrapping when my son was 9-months-old.

I've answered a simliar question in the past and my best advice it to just relax and realize that there is no right or wrong way to scrap. It should always be fun. Do you feel comfortable playing with a computer? If you do - then I would encourage you to consider getting started with digital scrapping. You can always do "regular" scrapping as well but you can easily get a feel for what you like and what your style will be by playing with a digi-program. And that way you can also decide later whether you want to do 12x12, 9x9, 8x8, 6x6 or 4x4 ;-) You'd be able to save your work for now and get albums later. Some people swear by strap-hinge and wouldn't use anything else. Check it all out and don't feel pressured to choose just one company or one line - that's silly - there is just so much cool stuff out there.

Email me if you have questions - I'll be glad to try and point you to helpful resources.

you can find both small & regular size scrapbook 'kits'-they come with everything you need, even special themes like new babies..you just put in the photos. You can find them on-line by doing a 'scrapbooking' search-or go to Michaels, Hobby Lobby and the best prices on scrapbooking supplies at QVC.com for kits. Good luck and have fun

Walmart has some real cute baby things. They have the albums, coordinating paper, stickers and such. Reasonably priced too. One hint: Do your best to keep up after the baby is born, once you get behind it is hard to get caught up. Good Luck and have fun!!
